Del Mar
Those booking a Del Mar vacation rental are in for some fun experiences. A wealthy beach town, Del Mar appropriately means “of the sea” in Spanish and is home to several thousand people. It’s also a mere 20 miles north of San Diego proper.
Aside from the beautiful beaches and picturesque scenery, the city contains the Del Mar Fairgrounds, a large property the features six exhibit halls totaling 219,380 square feet of space, including the Chevrolet Del Mar Arena. The arena is used for sporting events, concerts, and other special events.
The Fairgrounds is perhaps most well-known for hosting the annual San Diego County Fair and for housing the Del Mar Racetrack. The fair is held every summer and features numerous musical and talent performances, animal exhibits, food, and carnival rides. The Del Mar Racetrack is a rich piece of California’s history. It holds races every summer and can stable over a thousand horses, making it a fun and interesting visit for locals and out-of-towners alike.
Carlsbad
An affluent coastal resort city, Carlsbad occupies seven miles of coastline in San Diego’s North County region. Located just 35 miles north of Downtown San Diego, Carlsbad is a calm and relaxing area for a vacation.
Legoland is a big attraction in Carlsbad. Focused on those colorful bricks that we all loved—and still love—Legoland is broken up into nine different sections as well as a new water park. Featuring plenty of rides and attractions, the park is sure to be fun for the whole family.
Carlsbad is most well-known for its flower fields. Once spring comes around, Carlsbad blooms with flowers of all different colors, shapes, and sizes. Nearly fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. These flowers bloom for eight months from early March to May, acting as a vivid announcement of Southern California’s changing seasons.
